Abstract
Echocardiography has been well established as a non-invasive tool in the evaluation of congenital heart disease. The information derived from recording of the mitral and aortic valves has been used in the diagnosis of various cardiovascular entities.1–3 The tricuspid valve, on the other hand, is not recorded easily and has not been well studied. In this report we describe the frequency of occurrence of diastolic fluttering of the tricuspid valve in 22 patients with atrial septal defect and relate it to the volume of the left to right shunt.
