Abstract

The evaluation and management of patients who have sustained ocular adnexal trauma can be challenging. Often these patients have multiple injuries and are being cared for by many different subspecialties. Evaluation of such patients may seem daunting secondary to substantial bleeding and edema. In addition, the emotional state of the patient and family members often makes history taking and examination especially difficult and time consuming. Despite these challenges, the examination and treatment of trauma patients can be straightforward and efficient if undertaken in a systematic fashion.
