Abstract

The Earlier Bronze Age tradition existed during the Sub-Boreal period, in which climatic conditions were somewhat warmer (about 1 to 2 degrees C) and wetter than today. Within the broad area encompassed by the Earlier Bronze Age, somewhat cooler and wetter conditions existed in the west, particularly along the Atlantic, warmer and drier conditions in the south, particularly along the Mediterranean, and more variable continental conditions in the east.
