Abstract
The last two decades saw a phenomenal increase in the globalization of business. More manufacturers now have a market or manufacturing presence outside their native country. Implications of this product strategy are many. One of the most important competitive consideration for manufacturing firms in this economy is the design of their product for different markets.
In this article the authors discuss the efforts of the following manufacturers in designing their products for global markets: Bausch & Lomb; Boeing; Coca-Cola; Colgate; Fuji-Xerox; Heineken; Hewlett-Packard; Honda; Ikea; Lego; Levi; Marriott; Mars; McDonalds; Motorola; Pizza Hut; Polaroid; Subway; Tyco.
