The development and progression of adenocarcinoma of the lung

  • Chapter
Lung Cancer

Part of the book series: Cancer Treatment and Research ((CTAR,volume 72))

Abstract

Adenocarcinoma is the most common lung cancer in Japan and is said to be increasing in some other countries. Etiologically, it is less strongly associated with cigarette smoking than either squamous cell carcinoma or small cell carcinoma, and the mechanism of carcinogenesis of adenocarcinoma is not well understood.
