Abstract

To improve the evaluation of risks versus benefits induced by solar UV-radiation in normal persons and patients with photosensitive skin disorders, it is necessary to collect baseline data on the individual biological-effective UV-exposure in every day life. This quantity is mainly influenced by environmental factors such as season, time of day, degree of latitude, altitude, weather and atmospheric composition on one hand and by personal behaviour like sport-and leisure time activities, profession, age and social status on the other hand.
