The Air Network Itinerary and Trip Aggregation (Anita) Model

  • Chapter
Taking Stock of Air Liberalization

Abstract

Many authors have used air travel demand analysis in several fields: regulation (Trapani and Olson, 1982; De Vany, 1975), demand analysis and forecasting (Lansig, 1961; Long, 1968; Ippolito, 1981; Brown and Watkins, 1968; Sobienak, 1972); values of travel time (De Vany, 1974; Gronau, 1970), etc. They estimated city pair aggregated demand by defining for each market one representative price, travel time or frequency.
