Abstract
At a seminar conducted for the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries held in Singapore in 1990, it was reported that CFC consumption in Thailand was increasing while CFC consumption in Singapore decreased after reaching maximum consumption in 1988, and consumption in Malaysia also decreased after 1990. Only CFC consumption in Thailand was increasing—reaching 7,300 tons in 1990—and was estimated to exceed 10,000 tons in 1991. Enterprises from Japan and the U.S.A. operating in Thailand were responsible for the increase.
