Abstract
Animal experimentation and research with animals is an integral part of clinical research, including surgery. The goal is to solve problems encountered in clinical practice and develop new methods and approaches to the cure and alleviation of disease and disability. Animal experimentation is to be understood as research that will benefit both man and animals.
