Abstract

The theory of coated open tubular columns developed by Golay [109, 110] results in the following equation for HETP in terms of the average linear gas velocity \( (\bar{u}) \):

$$ HETP=\frac{B}{{\bar{u}}}+{{C}_{G}}\bar{u}+{{C}_{L}}\bar{u} $$
