Abstract

The analysis of the structure of a metal involves a number of discreet and often complicated and difficult steps, the last one of which in any examination of importance may be that of making a permanent record of the structure. This record is the means by which the results of the examination are communicated to others, so that the effectiveness of the whole operation is determined by how effectively this communication is carried out.
