Abstract
Since the first successful deposition of the YBa2Cu3O7-y (hereafter referred as to YBCO) superconducting thin-film1 with properties approaching those of the bulk material, a wide spectrum of methods and techniques (both high-vacuum and chemical) have been successfully implemented for fabrication of thin film high-TC superconductors.2 Currently, high-vacuum deposition at elevated temperatures (at least 650 °C) appears to have a decisive advantage in growing epitaxial or textured films with high transport-current densities. On the other hand chemical methods give a precise control over the stoichiometry of the deposited material and produce the best-quality granular films.
