The Reward System as a Tool for Reinforcing Innovation and Entrepreneurial Behavior

  • Chapter
Human Resource Strategies for Organizations in Transition

Abstract

Most U.S. companies emerge from this decade finding their competitive environment greatly, and perhaps forever, changed. Competitors are more numerous, aggressive and increasingly global. The high rate of technology change erodes competitive advantage at an alarming rate. Past winning strategies are now disturbingly ineffectual. As businesses respond to these new pressures, many of the ensuing organizational transitions evidence a common theme: the need to increase innovativeness and responsiveness by revitalizing entrepreneurial spirit.
