Abstract
I assume we all know the modern formulation of the classical Starling hypothesis concerning the dynamics of trans-capillary fluid exchange, based on a physiological equilibrium between the effective blood pressure in the capillary (difference between blood capillary pressure and interstitial pressure) and the effective colloid-osmotic pressure (difference between colloid-osmotic pressure in the capillaries and in the interstitium).
