Abstract
Chapter 2 covered setting up a stand-alone instance of Solr, core management, memory management, and other administrative tasks. The next chapters covered indexing, searching, and other advanced features of Solr. This single instance of Solr works well for proof of concept, development, feature testing, and simple production deployment. But when it comes to mission-critical deployment, you need to think of aspects such as performance, scalability, availability, and fault tolerance.
