Abstract

The motivation for studying the large scale structure of the Lya forest is twofold. First, by comparing the large scale clustering of the Lya forest with that of high red-shift quasars, one can learn whether the biased clustering has taken place during the formation of the large scale structure in the era corresponding to the high redshift considered. Second, by comparing the Lya forest’s structure with that of galaxies, we can learn how early in the universe the large scale structure observed locally can be traced.
