Abstract
Many cancer patients experience painful physical and emotional symptoms associated with cancer and cancer treatments. Integrative medicine combines mainstream cancer treatments and evidence-based complementary modalities such as touch therapies, music therapy, meditation, yoga, and acupuncture to provide symptom relief and to improve quality of life. The Integrative Medicine Service is an important component of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and has established complementary medicine as a valued element in cancer care.
