Abstract

This chapter opens the book part about generation of finite element meshes. The general approach to mesh generation is based on the block decomposition method. The user divides a solution domain into multiple blocks, each of which is suitable for the local meshing process. The main class of the mesh generator, Jmgen, calls modules that perform tasks of mesh generation. New modules can be added without changing the existing JavaTM code.
