Abstract

This chapter summarizes the anatomy and sonoanatomy of the intercostal space. There is a detailed discussion of patient selection and the procedure including cryotherapy. A summary of intercostal nerve blocks utilizing ultrasound, high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), radiofrequency ablation, and alcohol neurolysis is included. Finally, the adverse effect of pneumothorax is briefly discussed.
