Abstract

A novel dual-polarization ultra-wideband antenna is designed. The antenna consists of a hexagonal patch, and a rectangular vertical arm is connected to the hexagonal floor plane, realizing 35% of the 3 dB axial specific bandwidth and the isolation between the two ports. Two L-shaped radiators are added to the rectangular vertical arm to improve isolation and reduce the influence of multipath fading. The measurement results show that the antenna maintains good omnidirectional radiation characteristics in ultra-wideband frequency band, the antenna gain is less than 5 dBi, the isolation ratio is greater than 15 dB, and the envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) is less than 0.01. The antenna can be applied to ultra-wideband wireless communication systems.
