Abstract

In the Internet age, museums are gradually adopting a combination of online websites and physical museums to serve people. User experience, one of the important criteria to verify the success of a website design, tends to promote the development of the museum itself if applies properly. At present, most museum websites in our country pay insufficient attention to user experience. This paper takes the Heyuan Dinosaur Museum website as an example to redesign the museum website page to improve the user satisfaction of the museum website. This study uses the methods of performance measurement, system usability scale and behavior observation and evaluation to measure user experience, and combines multiple factors to evaluate website user satisfaction. It was found that users of the Heyuan Dinosaur Museum website had low usability score while gaining high satisfaction with the visual and interactive design of the website in the user experience evaluation. Finally, by applying TRIZ theory, this study resulted in a redesigned prototype of the Heyuan Dinosaur Museum website, which received higher user satisfaction and user ratings.
