Abstract

This book investigated the impact of delay and delay variations on gaming QoE, where a better understanding of these factors on gaming QoE was provided. A game classification was developed, where it explained the reason why some games are more delay sensitive than others, and the impact of delay on gaming QoE was modeled. In addition, using the insight gained delay compensation techniques that can mitigate the negative influence of delay on gaming QoE is proposed, which uses the game characteristics to adapt the games.
