Zusammenfassung

Proteine sind in erster Linie Baustoffe. Für die Energiebereitstellung spielen sie eine untergeordnete Rolle. Die Einbeziehung von Aminosäuren in den Energiestoffwechsel erfolgt erst bei mehrstündigen Langzeitbelastungen (im energetischen Notfall), was durch die Zunahme von Harnstoff und Kreatinin im Serum messbar ist.
