Abstract

This final chapter presents a set of heuristics and design concepts extracted from different sections of the book as well as my own personal practice and observation, presented as a manifesto for the design alchemist. These concepts are designed to capture the thinking behind Design Alchemy and to provide triggers to think of design as mix of science and art, of alchemy, in order to transform the way we all think about learning and teaching. The chapter concludes with a brief reflection on possible futures for educational design, followed by the Design Alchemy transformation trilogy: pedagogy, learning and teaching.
