Abstract

Passive radar utilizes extra illumination source for target detection and tracking. In this paper, we propose a new method that fits the LTE signal into the passive radar framework, served as a novel illuminator of opportunity. The range resolution, Doppler resolution and the ambiguity function performances are analyzed in detail. Simulation results demonstrated the feasibility and the advantages of the LTE signal as one of the illumination sources for passive radar.
