Abstract

By studying the Chinese Learner’s Dictionaries in recent years, this paper discovers that pragmatic information has been increased in the discrimination of confusable words. However, there is no consensus for the dimension of pragmatic information. This paper proposes to construct a knowledge base which can be applied to the field of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (TCSL). The knowledge base focuses on the frequently-used confusable words of TCSL, and it provides referential information for words discrimination. Specifically, this research adopts fifteen dimensions to describe the dynamic pragmatic meaning of the confusable Chinese words by classifying them into several categories.
