Abstract

What makes the corporate human rights obligations issue so difficult to resolve is the underlying philosophical question it is based upon: what is the role of the law? Should the law anticipate societal developments or should it respond to them? Is the law a tool for change or is it a vehicle for stability? Most importantly, when should the law step in?
