Current Status in Management of Carotid Disease in Korea

Abstract

Stroke is the third cause of death in Korean population. As underlying causes of stroke, ischemic stroke is increasing in its prevalence whereas hemorrhagic stroke is decreasing in Korean patients. Carotid disease is increasingly detected and an important cause of ischemic stroke. We would like to describe the current status in management of carotid disease in Korea.
