Abstract
Oral & maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) is a unique surgical speciality which focuses on eradicating infective, benign and malignant diseases of the head and neck, and restoring normal form and function of the dentition and facial bones following trauma or deformity. It requires a wide skill base, which harnesses aspects from a number of different surgical specialities in order to treat disease.
This chapter will focus on some basic anatomy and core operations that you are likely to see, along with some tips to ensure that you make the most out of your rotation.
