Abstract

Culture is a word whose etymology springs from the Latin word colere, which means grow; that is, it suggests implementation of the human being. Today, the word culture means a set of knowledge, opinions, ability, and/or behavior that characterizes and upgrades the human being. The original etymology, therefore, is in perfect accordance with the modern sense of the word.
