Abstract
This is a study about the nature of proficiency in digital art as a professional practice, how it is developed in an educational setting, and how teaching practitioners assess developing proficiency. Study participants were recruited from a digital art training programme that is situated within the norms of professional practice found in the computer graphics industry, making it an appropriate subject for the research questions posed in this study (p. 8).
