Abstract

This chapter reviews the book’s key messages. The discussion focuses on the impacts that a movie-making praxis can have on critical pedagogy and other practice-based fields such as communication for social change. A further focus is on the implications that the findings have on theory, with the objective of transferring them back to the original theories of conscientization. Also included is a final discussion on conscientization and emergence, which are concepts of significant importance in this project. Other central topics considered at the conclusion of this book include the contribution that visual storytelling, participatory action research, and communication for social change can offer toward systemic change. The final chapter concludes with a reflection on the researcher’s journey through the process.
