Abstract
Although software processes have been around for decades, software processes still constitute an emerging field in which practice and research are on the quest for new (better) approaches. In this chapter, we collect some trends and emerging approaches and provide an introduction to these topics. We address current research activities as well as initiatives initiated from practice. Topics covered include Process Mining, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Continuous Delivery and DevOps. Furthermore, we relate the topics presented in this chapter to the foundations set in the previous chapters.
