Zusammenfassung

Unternehmen und vor allem das Management müssen sich schnell und sicher aufgrund von wenigen, instruktiven Informationen über das inner- und außerbetriebliche Geschehen orientieren kónnen. Informationen über Kostenstrukturen, Kapazitätsauslastungen, Produktionsprogramme, Auftragsbestände, Ertragslage und Liquidität sind überlebensnotwendig. Die Stärken und Schwächen des Unternehmens im Vergleich zu Mitbewerbern der gleichen Branche sind herauszukristallisieren. Das Instrumentarium zur schnellen Beantwortung dieser differenzierten Fragen liefern gut durchdachte und sorgfaltig ausgewertete betriebswirtschaftliche Kennzahlen203. Die wichtigste Form der Verdichtung von Informationen stellt die Bildung von Kennzahlen dar204.
