Abstract
The production of a hole in a mechanical component is usually done by using a drill. Although drilling a hole appears to be a simple operation, the accurate drilling of a hole of the right size at the right location, can be difficult. A large number of tools and machines have been designed for the drilling of holes economically, accurately, and quickly, in all types of materials. A drilling machine can be used for many operations, some of which are the following:
-
1.
Drilling
-
2.
Reaming
-
3.
Boring
-
4.
Counterboring
-
5.
Countersinking
-
6.
Tapping
-
7.
Grinding
-
8.
Trepanning
