Zusammenfassung

Interaktionale Soziolinguistik stellt in der Geschichte von Soziolinguistik, Anthropologischer Linguistik und linguistischer Pragmatik eine relativ rezente Entwicklung dar. Das Arbeitsgebiet ist empirisch und qualitativ orientiert, gleichzeitig offen, eklektizistisch und in seiner Genese eng mit dem Namen John J. Gumperz verbunden. Im ersten Teil werden Quellen, Kerngebiete und Forschungsschwerpunkte exemplarisch vorgestellt; im zweiten Teil folgt die Diskussion einiger Beispiele aus den Forschungsarbeiten des Autors. Ein Fazit und Hinweise auf die generellen Leistungen der Interaktionalen Soziolinguistik schließen den Beitrag ab.
