Anthropozentrismus

Zusammenfassung

Der Begriff leitet sich vom griech. anthropos, ›Mensch‹, sowie kéntro, ›Zentrum, Mittelpunkt‹ her und bedeutet im Kern, dass sich der Mensch als Mittelpunkt der Welt versteht. Relevant für den Kontext der Tierethik sind vor allem seine Ausprägungen als epistemischer und moralischer bzw. normativer Anthropozentrismus.
