Zusammenfassung

Das mexikanische politische System hat den Übergang von einem hegemonialen Parteiensystem (Sartori 2005, S. 204) zu einem auf Wahlen beruhendem politischen System und somit zum gemäßigten Pluralismus vollzogen. Dabei handelte es sich um einen langsamen Entwicklungsprozess, der fast ganz von Wahlreformen getragen wurde. Diese waren vor allem darauf ausgerichtet, die politische Dynamik rund um die Wahlverfahren zu verändern. Allerdings existieren immer noch eine gute Portion Misstrauen und Diskussionen bezüglich der Legitimität der Verfahren.
