Abstract

In this paper, a new efficient approach named virtual schema mapping (VSM) is presented. It is a formalized and automated approach to map the XML document into relations. With this approach, the functional dependencies and constraints in the relational schemata are remained and these schemata satisfy the 3NF or BCNF at the same time. At last the comprehensive experiments are conducted to assess all the technologies in question.
