Das Harnblasenkarzinom repräsentiert eine der hä-figsten onkologischen Erkrank-ngen. 130 000 Menschen versterben jährlich weltweit an einem Harnblasenkarzinom. Männer erkranken doppelt so hä-fig wie Fra-en, wobei das mittlere Erkrank-ngsalter bei 69 Jahren für Männernd bei 73.4 Jahren bei Fra-en liegt. Zahlreiche kanzerogene S-bstanzen sind identifiziert worden, de ren Expositionrsächlich mit der Entsteh-ng des Harnblasenkarzinoms vergesellschaftet ist. Allen voran ist der Zigarettenkons-m z- nennen, gefolgt von aromatischen Aminen, deren Exposition zum Teil beruflich bedingt ist. Langjähriger Phenacetinabusus oder eine Strahlentherapie können Tumoren der Harnblase entstehen lassen.
