Abstract

Tests of special relativity have been a favoured playground for physicists since the theory was introduced in 1905 [1]. This is to be contrasted with the almost unanimous view that the theory is correct. Being a physical model, based on postulates, special relativity must not be taken for granted, but should be rigorously tested in experiments. Traditionally, these tests have been performed at low velocities, but with the refinement of experiments in the field of elementary particle physics, high velocity tests of special relativity have become available.
