Abstract
We implemented 256 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) modulator with Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). In this paper, we describe the implemented modulator specifications and structures. With Modem Analysis Tool (MAT), we confirm that the implemented modulator functions without error. From fixed-point simulation, we show that this modulator bit error rate performances are almost equal to the theoretical QAM bit error rate and know how fading influence modulator performance. We recommend that the implemented 256 QAM CDMA modulation methods can be employed in high-speed mobile environment, if only the exact fading compensation is possible.
