Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Computer Science ((LNCCN,volume 5276))

Abstract

The process of SLA acquisition, enforcement and management nowadays includes mostly manual, time-consuming processes both on end-users’ and ISPs’ side. We need to automate processes and enable real e-Negotiations between end-users and ISPs as well as between ISPs. Ontology based information and knowledge modeling involved in SLA e-Negotiation, Enforcement and Management is presented in this paper. Multiple layers of understanding of a complete SLA are presented on the end-users’ application based selection, as well as in the ISPs’ side through multiple layers of the policy continuum. Dynamic mappings and translation through model based ontology alignment in Knowledge Bases will use this knowledge to automatically configure network elements.
