Abstract

Summary: The paper is devoted to the parallelization of existing high-accuracy sequential CFD/CAA codes which become inapplicable to majority of the modern engineering problems due to a single CPU performance limitation. An efficient parallel upgrade gets especially complicated in case of extensive irregular approximation stencils used in explicit algorithms of high accuracy order. The parallelization technology developed is applied to the code NOISEtte for solving 2D and 3D gas dynamics and aeroacoustics problems using unstructured meshes and high-order (up to 6) explicit algorithms. The parallel version of NOISEtte is used for modeling resonator-type problems considered as typical problems of nonlinear aeroacoustics. In particular, the paper presents 2D and 3D computational experiments on simulating acoustic liners which are used for sound suppression in jet engines.
