Abstract
Trust is a major concern of resource users and owners in the grid environment with uncountable and at times unreliable nodes. An intelligent scheduling mechanism is essential for executing tasks on highly dynamic and heterogeneous grid environment which may require several different criteria to be considered simultaneously when evaluating the quality of solution or a schedule. Two important criteria frequently used are the execution time and the economic cost. In addition, due to the dynamism of the grid, security and reliability are major issues in scheduling. This paper presents a Trust-oriented Multi-objective Scheduling (Trust-MOS) algorithm in grid environment based on a sliding constraint. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that our approach generates good quality schedules and reduces task failure exertion and hence can be best suited for executing tasks in a secure manner.
