Abstract
Exploiting the rich multipath of ultrawideband (UWB) system with channel estimating for Rake receivers is a key point to achieve high performance. This paper presents an improved approach of channel estimation for pulse UWB communication system based on the theory compressed sensing (CS). The Matching Pursuit algorithm is used to identify the channel taps under the compressed sensing framework with prior knowledge of the power delay profile (PDP) of the channel. The MP algorithm itself is also modified to achieve higher performance of estimation based on the principle of probabilistic MP (PMP). Simulation results show that the proposed approach outperforms the already existing CS-MP channel estimation scheme.
