Abstract

In this paper design of an improved high speed efficient fuzzy logic controller in switched-cap technique is proposed. The controller takes advantage of an improved fuzzifier with less power consumption compared to what previously has been proposed, a high speed minimum circuit (MIN) and a new structure for high speed voltage mode divider. Pipeline structure, high speed, low power supply and voltage mode operation causes more adaption with digital and discrete time analog portable systems. The controller was integrated in a 0.35-μm standard complementary CMOS technology. It occupies 0.14 mm2 silicon area and is powered by a 1.5-V power supply while dissipating only45mW. Input and output signals lie in a 1-V range with respect to the analog ground (i.e., 0 V).
