Abstract

The management problem of geospatial information becomes the hotspot because of the high-speed development of geospatial information related industry. This paper looking at the problem from the angle as distributed Geocomputing, and studies on the distributed management and publishing mechanisms of massive geospatial information. There the collaboration mechanism of distributed nodes and the database-based storage and management strategy of massive geospatial information are proposed. The system performance and data access efficiency could be enhanced through collaborating between distributed nodes. Moreover, the complexity and heterogeneities between different data could be shielded by spatial database engine technology, which provides a uniform interface for data access on database. A prototype system has been implemented. Tests show that this system has favorable performance on data access, which could be a reliable data support for the upper geospatial information applications.
