Abstract
This manuscript proposed a formal framework for the mining of structured data. In the current state of the art, any algorithmic solutions have been proposed for this problem, yet little work has been done to formalize the underlying theory. We hope that the contributions presented here provide a better insight into the understanding of sequences, as well as other complex objects. The goal of this final chapter is to give a brief overview of the obtained results.
