Zusammenfassung
Eine fundierte logopädische Diagnostik bei Säuglingen mit Dysphagien und Trinkschwächen ist die Basis für eine weiterführende Therapie. Sie beruht auf einer genauen Beobachtung des Kindes vor und beim Trinken. Dieses Kapitel beschreibt die einzelnen Beobachtungskriterien vor dem Trinken, die Begutachtung der orofazialen Strukturen und Funktionen sowie die Überprüfung der oralen Reflexe und Reaktionen. Die verschiedenen Kriterien, die bei einem diagnostischen Trinkversuch beurteilt werden, wie Mundschluss, Kiefer- und Zungenbewegungen, Saugen und Saugfrequenz, Schlucken und Koordination werden exakt aufgelistet und beschrieben.
